Pattern of Response

SuccessMaker determines the achievement of a particular objective by analyzing a student’s answer pattern, not simply the number of correct answers the student gives. As the student works in the material , the system looks at the student’s recent responses and looks for answer patterns that show mastery. In this way, it can move students quickly to new material, and keep the student motivated
and interested.

In the graphic above the top student and the bottom student both show an average of 50% correct responses, but the patterns are quite different. It is clear that bottom student has mastered this particular objective. If this student were forced to get 80% correct before moving to the next lesson, the student would have to do another 12 exercises in a row correctly! A waste of the student’s time
and a true prescription for boredom.

SuccessMaker’s instructional approach personalizes each student’s learning experience according
to need, and tracks learning in a context that’s much closer to real-life situations in which students apply their knowledge.
